One of the best things about Manly is the abundance of great food within a short walk from the beach. Most tourists don’t venture past the places in the Corso, but Manly has much better food options if you look around. Here are a couple of our recommendations for the perfect beachside meal.
Fish & Lemonade
No trip to the beach is complete without a delicately fried filet of fish and crispy chips, and Fish & Lemonade has one of the best offerings in Manly. You can go traditional with batter fried or have it grilled with a choice of 4 types of sauce. Herb butter is awesome. The chips are also amazing, freshly prepared, crunchy and delicious. What’s their secret? The recipes were prepared by Stephen Hodges - seafood consultant and ex-chef of Fish Face.

Mongers
Fishmongers located in the Wentworth place nook in South Steyne serves up unique fish and chips. They fish is lightly fried with tempura batter and served with kumera chips. You can also swap out the chips with tempura vegetables for an even healthier choice.

Every Saturdays and Sundays during Summer, the Manly Nippers set up a BBQ stall in front of the Surf Lifesaving Club selling sausages, and bacon and egg rolls. Chowing down on a Roll with “the Lot” after a morning paddle is a weekend ritual for the locals. All proceeds also help fund the club so don’t feel guilty if you have a double.

Rollers
Make sure you try the super indulgent croissant creations from Rollers. Sweet or savoury, the unique flavours are what sets Rollers apart. Grab one or couple with a coffee to go and head beachside to dine alfresco at one of the best settings in the world.Pies and Rolls @ Manly Bakery
